Summer MMA Betting Odds Preview: Lookahead for Biggest Fights

Fans Can Already Start Betting on Future Bouts

UFC Leads the Biggest MMA Bouts Beginning in June

Summer may be the time when folks go on vacation or spend time outdoors, but a slate of MMA fights taking place from June to August. The best thing is, they already have MMA betting odds available. It starts with a championship fight featuring the “GOAT” of women’s MMA…

MMA’s Pound-For-Pound Best Defend Titles

UFC 289: Nunes vs Aldana (June 10)

It’s been a while since Amanda Nunes, the pound-for-pound best female mixed martial artist on the planet, has fought. She beat up Julianna Pena to recapture her bantamweight title last July. After their trilogy fell through with Pena’s injury, she takes on Irene Aldana to headline UFC 289 in Vancouver.

Nunes is a sizable favorite as she typically is at -370 per the MMA odds. Aldana is +270 but will take inspiration from her teammate, Alexa Grasso, who pulled off the biggest upset of the year thus far. The “Lioness” had already been on the wrong side of a massive upset so what are the chances she’s in for another one?

UFC 290: Volkanovski vs Rodriguez (July 8)

And from the top women’s fighter to the top men’s, Alexander Volkanovski takes on Yair Rodriguez to unify the UFC featherweight belts. It headlines UFC 290, which also features a flyweight title bout between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

Volkanovski enters as a -450 favorite while Rodriguez is +350 as the underdog. The Australian champion has never lost as a featherweight but is coming off a loss to Islam Makhachev at lightweight. Rodriguez submitted Josh Emmett to capture the interim title on the same night.

For Moreno, he is a shaky favorite against Pantoja. The challenger owns two victories over him with one being an exhibition during The Ultimate Fighter. The Brazilian has won three straight fights and will be an underdog for the first time since 2018.

UFC 292: Sterling vs O’Malley (August 19)

Aljamain Sterling also returns to defend his bantamweight belt against Sean O’Malley on UFC 292 on August 19. Sterling is quickly rising in the P4P rankings as he just defeated the former two-division champion Henry Cejudo. He’s lined as the favorite against O’Malley per the MMA betting odds.

In the co-main event, Weili Zhang defends her strawweight title against Amanda Lemos. The odds favor Zhang, who many would argue should now be ranked second on the women’s P4P list. A dominant win over Lemos would cement her status.

Elite Grapplers and Former UFC Stars Highlight More Big Fights

Bellator 297: Nemkov vs Romero (June 16)

Not to be outdone by the UFC, Bellator has stacked two title fights on their next event. This is the one event not to skip on the Bellator schedule.

Vadim Nemkov puts his light heavyweight title on the line against former two-time UFC title challenger, Yoel Romero. The early Bellator odds favor Nemkov although Romero has been known to pull off upsets. He is 6-4 as an underdog since 2014.

The co-main event is arguably better than the main event as Sergio Pettis defends his belt against featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. The odds should be tight here as Pitbull looks to become a three-division champion.

PFL 5 (June 16)

As far as women’s P4P rankings, Larissa Pacheco has a legitimate case as the best one outside the UFC. She’s won seven straight and is the defending lightweight champion after upsetting Kayla Harrison as a 5-1 underdog. She just beat up former Bellator champion Julia Budd to open her 2023 season and is now a big favorite over Amber Leibrock.

In the main event, heavyweight champion Ante Delija takes on former UFC fighter Maurice Greene. Delija is favored by the MMA betting odds though Greene is coming off a TKO victory.

PFL 6 (June 23)

Another elite grappler, Olivier Aubin-Mercier takes on Anthony Romero in this All-Canadian matchup. Romero is a hot prospect taking on PFL’s defending lightweight champion. “OAM” has been unbeatable in the PFL and is 7-0 with four wins over UFC veterans. He’s expected to be a moderate favorite in this bout.
