ULM Warhawks 2023 Future Odds
Bowden's Warhawks Face Another Tough Season

The ULM Warhawks aren’t a very good offensive football team. They’re not very good defensive football, either. They’re just not a good football team, period. But at least the Warhawks have won four games in each of the last two seasons. The ULM Warhawks future odds suggest that even four wins are probably going to be out of reach this season.

Warhawks Lose Plenty of Talent to Transfer Portal
At the end of the 2022 football season, the ULM Warhawks had a fair number of talented players set to come back. But many of them will be playing for different teams in 2023 after entering the transfer portal. Last year’s starting quarterback, Chandler Rogers, moved to Ohio State. The team’s top two running backs from last year have also gone elsewhere.
Junior college transfer Jiya Wright will likely get first dibs on the starting quarterback position. There isn’t much experience in the running back position. But the receivers are decent thanks to the return of Tyrone Howell, who had 50 receptions for 852 yards and six TDs.
The defense also saw some good players depart, with Quincy Ledet heading to Miami. The defensive line and linebackers need the most work. The secondary will be the strength of the defense, although that really isn’t saying a whole lot.
While the Warhawks are losing players to the transfer portal, they’re also trying to find replacement players in the portal. The biggest problem has been the players coming in aren’t quite as good as the players going out.
National Championship Odds: Don’t Even Think About It
The Warhawks are +100000, which is basically the same every year. ULM has no chance to make the playoff field, let alone win the title game.
Conference Odds: Avoiding the Basement a Better Goal
The ULM Warhawks future odds of winning the conference are +10000. That’s about as high as you’ll see for winning any conference. The Warhawks are such large underdogs for good reason.
ULM is only going to be on the right side of the NCAAF schedule. And ULM is one of them.
Regular Season Wins: Getting Four Wins Doesn’t Look Promising
The Arkansas State. But that’s about it. Bowden typically manages to lead his teams to at least one upset victory each season. But that will still leave ULM with three wins against a win total of 3.5.
Two of the games on this year’s schedule, at Texas A&M, and at Ole Miss, are strictly for the money. The Warhawks don’t have a chance of winning either game. But they’ll help fund the university’s athletic programs. That leaves just 10 games.
The problem for the Warhawks is that many of their home games are against better teams. Home games against Appalachian State are likely losses and the team isn’t really good enough to be counted on for a road win or two.
The ULM Warhawks future odds on the win total have bettors laying a bit of a price if they wish to take the under. That isn’t really ideal. But it looks to be the only way to go with this year’s ULM team.
