Louisville vs Florida State Free Picks & Betting Trends

The Louisville Cardinals have gone 10-2 this season. However, they’re only 6-5-1 against the spread this year. The Cardinals have lost two of their last three NCAAF games against the spread. However, the Over has hit in three straight games for the Cardinals.

That’s helped Louisville hit the Over six times in 12 games. One game’s total finished as a push and was voided for the Cardinals.

On the other hand, Florida State went 7-5 against the spread. They lost three straight games against the spread but responded with a cover against Florida on the road, 24-15, as 6.5-point favorites.

Meanwhile, the Over has hit in seven of 12 games for the Seminoles. Florida State has also gone 5-0 on the road, while Louisville is 2-1 on the road this season. The Seminoles won a neutral site game earlier this season against LSU.

Florida State most recently defeated Louisville, 35-31, in September of 2022. The Seminoles were 2.5-point favorites and covered in that game.

Louisville’s New Year’s Six Bowl Hopes

The Louisville Cardinals lost a rivalry game to Kentucky last weekend to fall to 10-2 on the season. But a loss to Florida State on Saturday could push them out of a New Year’s Six Bowl.

Many analysts still believe Louisville could face Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

This would be an intriguing game, knowing both college football teams defeated Notre Dame earlier this season. While Ohio State would be the perceived favorite in this hypothetical game, Louisville looked much better against Notre Dame than the Buckeyes did.

The Cardinals can still play in a New Year’s Six Bowl with a loss on Saturday against Florida State.

Win, And You’re In

While it’s not what the public wants to hear, if Florida State finishes the regular season undefeated and wins the ACC, the Seminoles will be in the College Football Playoff as one of the best four teams in the nation.

Without Jordan Travis, most college football fans don’t want to see Florida State included in the College Football Playoff. Those fans will root for Louisville to win the ACC and knock off Florida State.

However, no matter who is at quarterback, you can’t keep the Seminoles out of the College Football Playoff after going undefeated in a Power-5 conference.

Louisville’s Run Game Will Be The Difference!

The Louisville Cardinals have averaged 33 points per game while allowing 20 points per game defensively. The offense is led by senior Jack Plummer, who hasn’t always looked like a senior on the field.

Plummer has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards. He’s also thrown 21 touchdowns. But his 11 interceptions and QBR of 68.4 aren’t up to standard for an NCAAF player his age in college football.

Louisville is facing a brutal Florida State ing defense that has held teams to 154.17 yards per game. The rush is electric, and the secondary is dynamite.

Therefore, the Cardinals must run the football as much as possible between Jawhar Jordan and Isaac Guerendo. Those two have been a dynamic duo in the second half of the season. With Florida State allowing over 140 yards per game on the ground, Louisville will rely on the run game and hope Plummer can make intelligent decisions with the ball under pressure.

On the other hand, Florida State is rolling with Tate Rodemaker at quarterback. He’s a junior who has been at Florida State for four years. He knows the players and knows the plays. But he doesn’t have the talent that Jordan Travis has.

So far, he’s thrown five touchdowns and no interceptions this season. But his QBR of 43.9 is abysmal, and his completion percentage is almost below 50% over the last two weeks.

The Florida State NCAAF stats, and a much better quarterback running the show.

Our Louisville vs Florida State free picks include Louisville at +3.5 (-110).
