Big East Betting Roundup: Xavier at Connecticut Highlights Week
Creighton Hosts Musketeers on Saturday

The Big East betting roundup offers up some pretty solid games beginning Wednesday and continuing through Sunday. Xavier and Connecticut highlights the week, but Xavier at Creighton should also be a pretty one, as will Providence and Villanova. A good schedule for fans and bettors alike.
Wednesday, Jan. 25
The Big East betting roundup begins with a pair of ranked teams inConnecticut to put up plenty of long-range shots. The Huskies score 34.4% of their points from 3-point range and Xavier is allowing 36.2%, which is No. 292 in the nation. If Connecticut hits from the outside, Xavier will have a tough time keeping pace.
Creighton win by double digits.
Saturday, Jan. 28
The Musketeers have their second straight tough game, this time visiting Creighton and the Blue Jays will be close to 4-point favorites. The total will be right about 156, as both teams can score and Xavier’s defense isn’t nearly as good as the offense. Xavier should be able to score from the outside, as Creighton’s 3-point defense doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. As long as the total doesn’t exceed 157.5, one of your ncaab betting predictions should be on the over in this one.
Marquette Warriors vs DePaul Blue Demons
Date & Time:
Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion (Providence, R.I.)
Streaming: Fox Sports 1
The Marquette Warriors visit the DePaul Blue Demons for a Saturday afternoon game where the Warriors will be close to a 10-point favorite with a total close to 155. Marquette leads the nation in 2-point field goal percentage and the Blue Demons are pretty average defending against it. The Warriors are decent defensively but do allow some points from 3-point range, which is where DePaul scores 35.9% of its points. The Blue Demons have a shooter’s chance at covering a fairly large number as a home underdog.
Sunday, Jan. 29
The Big East betting roundup begins the day with an early affair in Philadelphia, as Wildcats shoot a lot of 3-pointers, although they aren’t the greatest from long range and can score from the inside. If Villanova gets a few of the calls that tend to go the home team’s way at times, it leads the nation in free throw percentage. This is a good spot for Villanova to get the win.
The final game for this week’s Big East betting roundup is one that used to be among the best in the country, but has fallen on hard times with Georgetown losing all prominence. St. John’s will be favored by about 15 points with a total near 155. The Hoyas aren’t a very good basketball team and the once-proud defense now ranks No. 279 in the nation. Georgetown is an average offensive team, which doesn’t cut it when you allow that many points. St. John’s is a solid team, particularly on defense. Still, it’s a lot of points to lay in this spot. St. John’s is coming off a game with Creighton and has a decent Seton Hall squad waiting in the wings.
