2024 ToyotaCare 250 Odds: New favorite for Xfinity race in Richmond
After a Cup Series driver won in Austin, Xfinity regulars look to take victory in Richmond

A wild finish last week at Circuit of the Americas saw Cup Series regular Kyle Larson get the win after between leaders Austin Hill and Shane van Gisbergen in overtime.
Larson made his way through in turn 15 to get his first Xfinity win of 2024. This week, the grid trades a road course for ovals once again, this time in Richmond with a new favorite in the 2024 ToyotaCare 250 Odds.
2024 ToyotaCare 250 Odds: Favorites in Richmond
Chandler Smith (+300)
Smith followed his win in Phoenix with an eighth-place finish in Austin last week. He’s just nine points behind leader Hill in the Xfinity series standings. Last year, Smith won his first career Xfinity race at this event, leading the most laps en route to victory.
He also raced well at similar tracks like New Hampshire (pole position to second place by the finish) and Phoenix. There hasn’t been a repeat winner in this event since 1991-92, when Harry Grant won both races. He’ll very likely be at the front, but a win could be tough.
Cole Custer (+400)
Custer continued his streak of top-five results with a fourth-place finish in Austin last week, thanks to van Gisbergen’s time penalty. The defending champion is third in the championship, 30 points behind Hill.
Historically, Custer’s been reliable in Richmond. He won this event in 2019 with another two top-five finishes in his last three Xfinity races there. He’s done well in similar tracks like Phoenix (two pole positions and one win in the last three races). His first win of the year is coming and this week could be it.
Justin Allgaier (+450)
Allgaier’s been inconsistent early on in 2024. He’s notched two top-10 finishes in Daytona (eighth) and Las Vegas (10th) but that’s been brought down by 28th in Atlanta and 29th in Phoenix.
Allgaier has had two wins in Richmond, both in 2020 and a top-five finish since then. His track record makes him a potential pick, but he lacks momentum compared to other favorites.
Aric Almirola (+600)
The longtime Cup Series driver has dropped down to the Xfinity Series with mixed results so far. Twelfth in Las Vegas and 31st in Phoenix are solid but not spectacular in his first season back. But Richmond should be one of his better tracks on the Xfinity Series schedule.
Sheldon Creed (+900)
After notching his third top-five finish of the season in Phoenix, Creed had his worst result of the season in Austin. He’s still in the top 10 of the standings, behind his trio of good results. His track record here is solid, including sixth place at this event last year.
He’s done very well at similar tracks in prior series, though, with multiple wins at Gateway in the Camping World Truck Series. Could this finally be the weekend he breaks through?
Sleepers for Richmond
Jesse Love (+1200)
At these NASCAR odds, he’s not much of a sleeper but offers a great payout compared to the favorites. Love’s been the top rookie in 2024 and sits fourth in the standings. Sixth place last time out was a great result for an early test at a road track at this level. His very good finish in Phoenix gives reason to believe he could win this weekend.
Sammy Smith (+2000)
In just his second entire Xfinity season, Smith has already established his speed at a similar track, Phoenix, with a win, a pole position, and two other top-10 finishes. He also raced well in New Hampshire last season. He’s already off to a good start in 2024 with three top-10 finishes. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take the chequered flag this weekend.
2024 ToyotaCare 250 Odds: Picks for Richmond
A return to ovals comes at one of the more exciting tracks for drivers and fans alike. With Xfinity drivers leading the way, it’ll go a long way for the championship standings this week.
Of the favorites, Smith or Almirola look like the best bets, depending on how good a payout you’d like. Of the sleepers, go with Love. His time is coming and could be this weekend.
