Bettors were on the Nationals all series long with Wednesday being no exception after 84% of the moneyline wagers backed the Nats on the moneyline.

Brad Keller was terrific for the Royals and the betting public after 75% of the moneyline wagers ed MLB results look back at a couple of games that made an impact on the public’s bankroll, and then finish it off by examining a few stadiums and how their impact could affect your bottom line.

Public Still On Cardinals

No matter how many games the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Central (8 GB) or games under .500 (12), you can always bet that there will be those in the public that will still back the Redbirds because their reputation is they’ve been one of the best teams in baseball to bet on through the years. That sentiment is true. No organization has given more to bettors (+1942 units) than the Cardinals since 2005, and it’s not even close.

  • The second-place team in that span is the Texas Rangers (+1197). You can see how a long-term romance has formed between the Cards and bettors. So far in 2023, St. Louis has been a friend to the sportsbooks with 1,474 units lost based on a daily $100 wager.

Last night, 58% of the moneyline wagers were on the Cards, handing the public a rare 10-4 loss on Wednesday. We talked in our season preview of the Cubs about how their starting staff was underrated heading into the season and Boston Red Sox.

Astros Give Bookmakers Massive Loss

There were two games on the Wednesday card that handed the guys behind the counter a major loss. One was the Los Angeles Angels. 95% of the moneyline wagers were on the ‘Stros who took two of three from the Angels.

Houston is moving up the MLB standings wildcard so anticipate Houston making a run, especially when they are 100% healthy. Let’s finish off our MLB Wednesday Results by looking at another betting angle to put in your arsenal this week.

Major League Baseball Betting Angle: Stadiums

It sounds very pedestrian when we talk about which stadiums are best for bettors, but we’re going to go a little deeper by examining which parks are best for underdog bettors both in 2023 and in recent history. There is no park that has been friendlier to the betting public than Minute Maid Park where the Houston Astros play. Of the 17 games there this season, the underdogs are 12-7, producing 993 units of profit. That’s easy to see considering the Astros have struggled to find themselves over the .500 mark after winning the World Series last year. If that’s the criteria, then it’s not a surprise that Busch Stadium is second with dogs winning 11 of 19, +810 units. Let’s look at it through the lens of recent history.

Over the last three seasons, T-Mobile Park (Mariners) has been a friend to bettors with underdogs producing 2696 units of profit (91-92) followed by Comerica Park, home of the Rangers) +1601 units. You would easily think that teams and parks would have the same numbers but a great deal of these fields opened after 2005 so we thought it would be interesting to break down underdog success by current parks. That does it for our MLB Wednesday Results, we wish you nothing but the best heading into a busy weekend.
