Lens on Four Game Ligue 1 Home Winning Streak

Lens conceded less than a minute into their AS Monaco last Sunday. Maghnes Akliouche doubled Monaco’s lead midway through the first half but Lens managed to fight back. Faitout Maouassa scored on a thunderous strike just before halftime and Florian Sotoca equalized in the 62nd minute. The tie went into penalties, where Lens fell 6-5.

Despite losing in penalties, Lens are unbeaten through 90 minutes in their last 10 home matches, in all competitions. A look at the Ligue 1 stats shows that Lens have not scored anywhere close to as many goals as they did last campaign. In 2022-23, Lens averaged 1.8 goals per game in Ligue 1 but they’ve averaged just 1.2 goals through 17 matches this season. No Lens player has five or more league goals this season, as Wesley Said leads the team with four. Lens have a number of players away on international duty this month as well.

That includes Salis Abdul Samed, Morgan Guilavogui, Abdugodir Xusanov and Nampalys Mendy. Plus, Jonathan Gradit and Deiver Machado are out injured. Regardless, Lens are on a four game home winning streak in Ligue 1 and will want to get a statement win here. Sotoca is a key player to look out for here, as he’s scored three goals and provided five assists this season.

Mbappe on a Roll for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain destroyed Sixth-tier club US Revel in the Coupe de round of 64 last Sunday. PSG scored nine unanswered goals as defender Lucas Beraldo made his debut and Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick. Marco Asensio scored and provided two assists, while Randal Kolo Muani also got on the scoresheet twice. Last Wednesday, PSG also won their first piece of silverware of the season.

Lee Kang-in and Mbappe were on target as PSG took down Toulouse 2-0 in the French Super Cup. Mbappe has consistently been number one on the list of Morocco.

Starting center back Milan Skriniar is injured, along with Nuno Mendes and Fabian Ruiz. Backup keeper Arnau Tenas is also out. PSG are currently unbeaten on the road in Ligue 1, with a 5-3-0 record. Even with a few absences, they have more than enough to get over the line here.

Match Analysis & Odds

PSG’s last road win over Lens was back in 2014 but the Parisians will be feeling confident about their chances in this one. Currently, the PSG vs Lens French battle odds price the visitors as -110 ATS and moneyline favorites. Lens are looking to keep their 10 game home unbeaten run in tact but they are +285 underdogs for this one. Lens looked vulnerable in last weekend’s match vs. Monaco but they also created a lot of chances.

So, it wouldn’t at all be a surprise if Sunday’s match turns into a shootout. Four goals have been scored in the last three meetings of this fixture but under three goals display -120 odds here. Meanwhile, a draw shows +290 odds as PSG have gone 9-1-0 in their last 10 Ligue 1 matches. Bettors can also take Lens +0.5 at -110 odds for this one.
