2023 PGA Continues: Rahm Tops American Express Betting Odds

It’s a Stellar Field at La Quinta

The best PGA Tour players are back in action at La Quinta this week and The American Express betting odds favor Jon Rahm.

The Spaniard is playing better than anyone else in the world at the moment and he’s looking to claim the honor of the world’s best golfer.

PGA golf odds are always generous and there is good value available for every player in the field.

Rahm is Confident of Success

Despite the world rankings suggesting otherwise, we think Rahm is the top player in the world and his recent success suggests as much.

With recent victories in the DP World Tour Championship and the Open de Espana under his belt, the Spaniard is on a winning run and he also won the Golf Tournament of Champions to start 2023.

The American Express betting odds have Rahm at +600 to win, so he’s the only player in the field at single-figure odds. It’s not surprising for a player who believes he’s the best player in the world, let alone in the tournament.

“Oh, I definitely do, yeah. And had they not changed the world ranking points, I would have been pretty damn close right now,” Rahm said. “At this point, I’m thinking, will I Patrick Cantlay? Because since the playoffs, I have not missed a top-seven. I’ve won three times, and I don’t even get close to him. So I’m trying to understand what’s going on.

“I feel like since August I’ve been the best player in the world. I feel like, and I think a lot of us should feel like a lot of times we’re the best.”

Bettors aren’t getting massive value for the favorite but we’re not leaving him out of selections. He is often dominant and he could put a space on this field if he’s in contention heading into the weekend.

Maiden Win Coming for Young

Cameron Young is getting close to breaking through for his maiden win and he’s worth following every week until he wins.

Young has been consistently putting forth excellent performances, including placing second at the PGA Championship Odds.

We think that this is the year for Young to demonstrate his greatest golfing form since he fits the same model as Scottie Scheffler or Will Zalatoris, who both displayed consistency before breaking through last year.

Young is at +2000 with The American Express betting odds, which are worth considering. He is an American who we wouldn’t leave out of choices and represents value at those odds, so expect big things from Young, who plays well beyond his years.

Cantlay Can Play

Rahm has openly argued that he should be ranked higher than Patrick Cantlay, so the latter might show Rahm who’s in charge at The American Express.

Cantlay is one of the PGA Tour’s more reliable winners, and his T16 result at the Masters Tournament gave hope that he would regain his winning ways.

The 30-year-old former FedEx Cup champion has received strong to win at a shorter-than-expected +1000. He is not a value choice because we estimated his odds to be approximately +1600 to win, but he must be taken into when making golf picks.

‘PGA golf odds are likely to take money for Cantlay, so he could be worth taking at the price before he firms on Thursday.’

Theegala Eyes Double

Sahith Theegala and Tom Hoge won the QBE Shootout to cap off 2022, although he has yet to claim victory in a PGA Tour title as a solo player.

The former top amateur has the talent to defeat the most well-known players, and winning the QBE might give him the assurance he needs.

He hasn’t yet reached Rahm and Cantlay’s level, but he’s still developing, so the floodgates could Open in 2023.

Theegala is listed at +5000 with The American Express betting odds, which is a fantastic price for a golfer with his confidence levels sky high.
