Angola vs Cameroon Head-to-Head:
These sides haven’t played any World Cup matches in qualifiers against each other since 2001. The Angola vs Cameroon H2H history shows that Cameroon lead the series 4-3 all-time, with three draws.
However, these teams haven’t played a full competitive international match since Cameroon defeated Angola 3-1 at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations. Since then, they’ve only met in friendlies or the African Nations Championship, a competition only for players taking part in their countries’ domestic leagues.
Still, Angola have lost just one of the last five meetings, in all competitions.
Angola Stifling Opponents Defensively
Last Friday, Angola grabbed their first win of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign. After two scoreless draws, they took down Eswatini 1-0.
Mabululu, who scored three times in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, found the net just two minutes in. After that, Angola dominated possession and Eswatini didn’t look like they’d manage to score.
Angola, who are in third place in Group D, and Ivory Coast are the only two teams in CAF Qualifiers yet to concede a goal. Looking at Angola’s qualifying World Cup schedule, they’re yet to face a top team.
The Palancas Negras have drawn vs both Cape Verde and Mauritius. Still, Angola did show they can compete with some of Africa’s best teams at AFCON.
Pedro Goncalves’ side reached the Quarter-Finals, where they fell to Nigeria 1-0 in a tight match. In ten matches this year, Angola have only conceded on five occasions.
They have a good defensive group, headlined by David Carmo (Lyon). Rayo Vallecano’s Randy Nteka just made his Angola debut and Mabululu has been in excellent goalscoring form for Angola in 2024.

Cameroon Defeat Cape Verde Amid Internal Turmoil
The Indomitable Lions convincingly took down Cape Verde on Saturday by a 4-1 scoreline in Yaounde. The Indomitable Lions got on the scoresheet early, as Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui headed in a corner. Vincent Aboubakar scored twice and goalkeeper Andre Onana saved a penalty in the victory.
Cameroon have also defeated Mauritius 3-0 and drawn 1-1 in Libya thus far. Saturday’s win came amid controversy as earlier in the week, coach Marc Brys alleged their training materials were deliberately taken.
President of the Cameroon Football Federation Samuel Eto’o has openly protested Brys’ appointment and feuded with him. Still, the on-field product on Saturday was good and Cameroon are one of the better African sides for soccer betting.
The Indomitable Lions reached the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 this year, where they fell to Nigeria.
Bettors should be aware that Cameroon have conceded in every match they’ve played in this year. Still, with midfield destroyers like Carlos Baleba and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and talented forwards Aboubakar and Bryan Mbeumo, Cameroon should be able to win Group D.
Angola vs Cameroon Match Analysis & Odds
