Miami GP Recap: Verstappen Pays Bettors Once Again

F1 Heats Up Betting Circuit in USA, Miami Sets Stage for Vegas

Bettors Don’t Care About Venue, The Bet is On Drivers

The F1 schedule, bettors can count on intense competition and impressive performances from the top drivers. While the $275 Nachos and the $350 empanadas may have broken pocketbooks at the Miami GP; there were plenty of Formula 1 drivers capturing the fans attention and more importantly, the bettors attention.

Of Winning Streaks and Mishaps

In keeping up with the F1 standings, it was no shock that the top three winners of the Miami GP were Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso.

Verstappen was in particularly top form, achieving his fourth straight win in the United States with his latest victory. It should not go unnoticed that he now holds the current longest streak with 24 consecutive finishes. Additionally, his triumph also marked his 38th win for Red Bull, matching Sebastian Vettel’s team record. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, he’s currently leading the championship with a comfortable 14-point margin.

Of course, talent ran wild that day; Sergio Perez, was impressive enough to narrowly miss out on winners circle. But on the other end of the spectrum, the losers lost bigtime. Oscar Piastri struggled with a brake-by-wire problem for most of the race and ended up as a ‘DNF’.

Alfa Romeo’s Bottas got the short end of the stick. In spite of AR managing to improve their performance without any upgrades on their car for the Miami GP during the Friday and Saturday session – Valtteri Bottas still qualified for Q3. Unfortunately, Bottas couldn’t maintain his position due to a lack of pace and ended up falling out of the top 10. Meanwhile, Bottas’ teammate, Zhou Guanyu, also failed to secure any points – meaning that Alfa Romeo has now gone two consecutive races without scoring any points. Tough luck.

Breaking Down the Miami GP Highlights

Why Was Albon So Angry?

One of the most talked-about moments of the Miami GP was when Alex Albon became visibly angry over the radio. Fans and commentators alike were left wondering what had caused such an outburst from the driver, but now we do have some answers!

According to Albon, the incident was sparked by a misunderstanding over team strategy. Albon had been told to let his teammate him, but he believed that he was supposed to be racing him instead. The resulting confusion and frustration led to the outburst.

Fans Got Ripped, Bettors Scored

While the Miami GP may have been an exciting event for racing fans and certainly a fantastic opportunity for F1 bettors, it was also an expensive one for those in attendance. Reports of sky-high food prices circulated online, with some attendees claiming to have paid in the hundreds of dollars for simple racing venue grub.

While some defended the high prices as a necessary aspect of hosting such a large-scale event, others felt that they were exploitative and unfair. The incident sparked a broader discussion on the affordability of attending major sporting events, and whether or not organizers should do more to ensure that fans aren’t left feeling overcharged and underserved. At the end of the day, none of that mattered to F1 bettors, they were at home and winning with Verstappen!
