Venus Williams
One of the two players in the popular sibling tennis duo is vegan. Venus Williams has been vegan since 2011. Williams followed a plant-based diet after being diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes both pain and fatigue throughout your body.
This career-ending news didn’t stop her from wanting to maintain her performance on the court. During an interview with Health Magazine, she explained, “Once I started, I fell in love with the concept of fueling your body in the best way possible. Not only does it help me on the court, but I feel like I’m doing the right thing for me.”
Venus is now one of many athletes who advocate for a plant-based diet that can promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

Lewis Hamilton
This one comes as no surprise since he owns his own chain of vegan fast-food restaurants called Neat Burger. Lewis Hamilton went vegan in 2017 at the age of 33 and said he should have made the switch to a plant-based diet sooner. Apart from being one of the best in Formula 1, he’s also an advocate for veganism and animal rights.
Fun fact is that he became vegan after watching the documentary “What The Health”, a film that criticizes the meat and dairy industries. Later on, he spoke to CNN about making the switch, stating “I feel incredibly clean and healthy. Animal cruelty, global warming, and our personal health are at stake”.
