CFL Week 4 Odds Preview: Someone’s “O” Is Gonna Go
A Winless Team Tastes Victory While an Unbeaten Loses

Ottawa Favored to Win; BC-Toronto Lined Tightly
In an abbreviated new CFL week, a team’s “O” will be replaced by either a win or a loss. The CFL Week 4 odds favor the Ottawa Redblacks to get its first victory this season as they host the Edmonton Elks. And in the featured matchup, unbeaten outfits BC and Toronto clash in the BMO Field. The line is for BC but just by a point.
CFL Week 3 Review: Road Teams Roll
What home turf advantage? That was clearly not the case last week as all four road teams won. This included two upsets as both BC and Saskatchewan took down Winnipeg and Calgary, respectively. BC’s performance put them atop the CFL as they held Winnipeg to just six points, the fewest the team has scored with quarterback Zach Collaros as the starter.
It was a statement victory from the Lions and they established themselves as the best team in the CFL. The total went under for the first time in a Winnipeg game this season. It was also the only game that went under as the rest all hit 50+ points and went over their totals without sweat.
All four road teams did not just win but they all covered the spreads. That makes it 8-4 for road teams this season. And the winning could continue with Winnipeg and BC both favored on the CFL Week 4 odds this coming week.
Edmonton Elks (0-3) vs Ottawa Redblacks (0-2)
Date, time:
Location: TD Place Stadium, Ottawa
Streaming: CFL+, CBS Sports Network
Edmonton scored 31 points but still lost and extended its losing streak at home to 19 games. There is no shame in losing to the defending champs. But now the Elks get a short time to prepare for the Redblacks as 3.5-point underdogs. Ottawa is coming off a bye and looks to keep its losing skid at home to just five. The Redblacks are also just 1-9 against the spread (ATS) in its last 10 games as a host. The total of 42.5 is the lowest this week.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-1) vs Montreal Alouettes (2-0)
Date, time:
Location: Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, Montreal
Winnipeg will shake off that game and look to dominate again. The CFL Week 4 odds expect it to be an anomaly as the Blue Bombers are the largest favorites as a visitor at 5.5 points. The totals also remain inflated at 48.5 as Winnipeg could over-correct and score 30+. The unbeaten Alouettes will not be easy prey. They are 4-2 ATS in their last six games against Winnipeg. Cody Fajardo, Montreal’s new QB, is winless against Collaros’ Bombers (0-7).
BC Lions (3-0) vs Toronto Argonauts (2-0)
Date, time:
Location: BMO Field, Toronto
One of the best CFL games today, the Lions and Argonauts will duke it out to stay perfect. The betting lines remain tight though the action leans towards the visitors. Lions QB Vernon Adams Jr. is making a case as the Most Outstanding Player (MOP). He’s thrown for 861 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. But Chad Kelly is no slouch himself and leads the CFL’s most dynamic offense, which can score prolifically both from the air or ground.
