A Collective Commitment

BetMGM, bet365, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital, and PENN Entertainment are all on board with ROGA and have committed at least $20 million to its mission. ROGA’s main aim is to encourage responsible online gaming, especially as sports betting continues to grow across the country.

While the legalization of sports betting has reshaped the landscape of online gaming, concerns about problem gambling persist. Despite the changing perceptions surrounding sports betting, issues related to problem gambling continue to garner attention in the betting news. ROGA hopes to change how people view the industry.

ROGA’s initiatives encom a multifaceted approach to fostering responsible gaming behavior. Education and awareness programs will be at the forefront, aiming to equip consumers and industry stakeholders with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions, such as betting online responsibly without risking your mortgage or car payment.

By funding research initiatives and advocating best practices, ROGA seeks to enhance awareness about the potential risks of irresponsible gambling.

The companies in ROGA will work together to share data and create a database to keep consumers safe. Moreover, ROGA will create a certification program to evaluate ’ responsible gaming efforts objectively, providing an additional layer of ability and transparency.

A Call for Responsible Gaming Advocacy

As sports betting becomes more popular nationwide, especially online gambling, it’s crucial to advocate for responsible gaming. The National Council on Problem Gambling estimates at least 2 million Americans struggle with gambling issues, highlighting the importance of working together to promote responsible gaming.

With ROGA set out to promote responsible gaming, it’s a big move toward making gaming safer. By focusing on protecting consumers and educating them, ROGA aims to keep sports betting fair while also helping people avoid the dangers of problem gambling.

“By coming together with a clear set of objectives, ROGA and our will work to enhance consumer protections and help provide easier and more efficient access to responsible gaming tools for consumers to enjoy the entertainment of online gaming,” ROGA Executive Director and Nevada Council on Problem Gambling President Dr. Jennifer Shatley said in a release.

“Busting bookmakers and taking their money is his greatest joy in life. He’s been around the block more than once, knows the players both on and off the field of battle, and uses his experience to serve the bookies a heaping plate of humble pie washed down by a warm glass of their salty tears. You can find him in any number of Vegas books, sniping weak lines and getting paid to do it.”
